Hockey playoffs and new hockey romance by Kariss Lynch

I am working on a prequel story to my hockey novel coming out next February. Title and cover are coming soon! In my novel, Kenzie and Brady are reunited in the hockey arena when Brady is bumped down from the pros and lands on the minor league hockey team Kenzie works for. Neither are thrilled. Who would be after a whirlwind romance years earlier at the Olympics (think Team Canada vs Team USA) and then an abrupt and painful breakup with no contact since? Yeah, not ideal. But God is a God of second chances, and there’s hope for them yet.
So now back to the prequel. It’s set during their first meeting and whirlwind romance at the Olympics! I’m having so much fun writing it. But my prequel is different from the novel. In this prequel, my characters love the Lord, they are in a sweet season (hello, playing in the Olympics), and life is good and romance is fun. but when my novel opens, they are both struggling. Things aren’t going quite like they hoped and dreamed back in their early days.
Isn’t that so true for many of us? We have seasons of trusting the  Lord, and then the storms come, and the devil weasels in there and convinces us that God isn’t good, he can’t be trusted, he has good for others but just not us, or he couldn’t love us because we keep messing up.
Sound familiar?
Same.
But just like Kenzie and Brady learn in my novel, the Lord never leaves us. He is always working behind the scenes, and he cares. He is always waiting with a hand out for us to realize he never leaves us or forsakes us.
Those on my newsletter will be the first to receive this prequel story. If you or any friends want the story, encourage them to sign up. I can’t wait to share it with you in the next couple months.
