About Kariss

I began my writing career in third grade with a story about a magical world for a class assignment and then chased my dream into college, graduating with a degree in English from Texas Tech University. Making a career of writing was always a dream without substance. I just didn’t know what the Lord wanted me to do.

Then at age 21, someone challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, begin writing things that matter, and then share these stories with others instead of storing them under my bed. So I started this scary, exhilarating journey. I love writing characters the Lord hasn’t decided to make real people yet. I like to show God-sized dreams, romance, action, and let’s be real, a little humor, too.

I believe the written word is powerful. I believe it has the ability to change lives and culture. And I believe every person has a story, no matter how glamorous, or controversial, or messy, or beautiful, or complicated, or terrible. I believe the Lord wants to use your story and mine to change lives. These stories may be fiction, but ultimately through them I pray you see the heart of the God who made you.

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10
