Redo on New Year?

Hi friends! Happy January! Anyone need a redo on New Years?
Our crew rang in the new year with the flu. It was NOT how I wanted to dive into January or end Christmas season with my family. While January 1 is just another day, it has always felt like a clean slate of fresh possibilities to me, and I feel like I missed it.
But it’s never too late to start something new. In fact, we did a New Year’s redo on January 10, once everyone stopped running fever. We had a fire going, a yummy, warm dinner, and berry cobbler fresh from the oven. We watched a ball drop countdown with our kids and blew kazoos and shouted ‘Happy New Year!’
Like I said, never too late for a fresh start, and sometimes you have to determine to make your own.
Life happens. And while I can plan a long to do list for the year, I am finding that I am much more effective planning a few big things I want to accomplish that allow the flexibility for whatever life may bring. Hubby is encouraging more habit stacking rather than goal planning.
And let’s be real. Having a baby this year already tells me that I will have some wheels off months with a newborn, so I’m planning to be adaptable.
Maybe you need the reminder, too. Maybe you need to be reassured that it’s okay to start fresh today with your health goals, your Bible reading, your goals and dreams for the year. And maybe you need to be reminded that it’s okay if your goals and dreams need to change as the month goes and as the year goes. Is that you? Feel free to email me, and we can encourage each other! I’m in the same boat, friend.
